Obbo Amin Jundi, the Secretary General of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), discussed about the OLF and the OLF-led Oromo people’s struggle, about alliance, and about Ethiopia’s past mistakes and future opportunities at the September 10, 2011 Dallas meeting between the OLF and Ginbot-7.
One of the highlights of Obbo Amin Jundi’s speech included a discussion about the vicious divide-and-rule strategy used by the authoritarian regime of Mr. Meles Zenawi in order to stay in power at all costs and by all means. In the above video clip*, Obbo Amin Jundi frankly admits how Mr. Zenawi has successfully used the divide-and-rule strategy over the last 20 years to kill, harass and intimidate one political camp while others looked the other way unconcernedly. In the clip, Obbo Amin Jundi remarks that “when Ogaden bleeds, Gondar should be outraged,” in order to emphasize the need for an alliance based on compassion and mutual respect.
It’s to be noted that the full speech was previously published here.

Dear Jundi I watched the conference held at Dallas on September 10, 2011. Well done!!! As we all know through experience, where man is free to think and to speak, differences of opinion will arise from difference of perception, and the imperfection of reason. Keep up your positive thoughts for your people and fair treatments of all human being.
And ” When the doors of opportunity swing open, we must make sure that we are not too drunk or too indifferent to walk through.” unknown
