Oromia-Ethiopia: Banning the Macha-Tulama Association Will Not Reverse the Oromo Struggle – VOL/SBO
Mr. Laggese Deti Dhaba was the Secretary General of Macha-Tulama Self-help Association for the year 2002- 2003. Mr. Dhaba has also served as the Chairman of History and Culture Committee of the Association. He is a cultural expert of Oromo society; and hence, imprisoning and attacking him is tantamount to destroying Oromo cultural resources and foundations.
Listen to this week’s (Oct. 26, 2011) Voice of Oromo Liberation (VOL/SBO) for a commentary on the banning the Macha-Tulama Self-Help Association by the Meles Zenawi government as well as for news, and more. The Macha-Tulama Association is the oldest independent Oromo civil society organization with the purpose of promoting Oromo history and culture.
Currently, the Macha-Tulama high officials: Mr. Laggese Deti Dhaba, Mr. Mulugeta Riqitu and Sisay Sarbesa are all held incommunicado at the Maikelawi Torture Center in Finfinnee. Read More on the Illegal Imprisonment of Macha-Tulama Officials
