The Peoples’ Alliance for Freedom and Democracy
(OLF, ONLF, SLF and some candidates of AFD)
The aforementioned peoples’ alliance of Ogaden Somalis, Oromo, Sidama and the new candidates of AFD:
After deliberating on the current situation in Ethiopia and carefully observing the level of struggle against the current regime and the apparent confusion created by the sudden disappearance of Meles Zenawi, the “strong man” ruling Ethiopia for the past twenty one years;
Being apprehensive of the current regime’s attempts to delude the peoples in Ethiopia regarding Zenawi’s fate and their attempt to maintain the status quo in order to continue their ruthless suppression of all peoples in Ethiopia;
After considering, the current disarray and lack of political will of some opposition groups to embrace the political and social changes that Ethiopia has undergone in the last forty years and their archaic adherence to political precepts that are no longer tenable in the 21 century, such as negating the rights of nations in Ethiopia to self-determination;
After considering the opportunistic utterances of some sectors of the opposition regarding the aftermath of future change of polity in Ethiopia, which neglects the long struggle of the oppressed peoples in Ethiopia – who were subjugated, disenfranchised and virtually enslaved even before the current regime came to power in Ethiopia;
Being cognizant of the fact that some sectors of the opposition are aspiring to reversing the historic acceptance in principle, but not in practice, by the present regime of the rights of all nations and nationalities under Ethiopian rule for their inalienable right to exercise their self-determination;
Asserting that the oppressed peoples who had fought with their blood and still keeps fighting successive oppressive regimes in Ethiopia will never allow the reversal of their revolutionary gains;
The Peoples’ Alliance for Freedom and Democracy reiterates and reaffirms the following:
1. A peaceful and orderly transfer of power to the peoples in Ethiopia can only come through a comprehensive conference of representatives of all the different nations, nationalities and those committed to genuine democracy in Ethiopia that hammers out the future of the Ethiopian Empire;
2. The basis of any future arrangement in Ethiopia must be based on democratic principles, including the exercise of the right of self-determination and the respect of both individual and group rights;
3. All changes, arrangements and configurations that are intended to end the perennial conflict in Ethiopia must be based on the will and consent of each and every nation and nationality in the Ethiopian empire;
4. No single group, including the incumbent regime, can dictate the future of any of the nations and nationalities in Ethiopia;
5. The Peoples’ Alliance for Freedom and Democracy shall intensify its efforts to unite all the oppressed nations under Ethiopian rule to effectively struggle for their right to freedom and democracy;
6. The international community shall respect the wishes, desires and rights of all the nations and nationalities in Ethiopia in their engagements and understand that the status quo is untenable and a recipe for further disaster;
Finally, the Peoples’ Alliance for Freedom and Democracy calls on all concerned parties, including the current government of Ethiopia, the representatives of all nations and nationalities in Ethiopia with the facilitation of the international community to seize this opportunity and hold a comprehensive conference to resolve the existing dysfunctional political and social dilemmas confronting the Ethiopian Empire.

It is that the coalition of the oppressed nations and nationalities that can serve as a better alternative to the existing political problems. Keep it up.
Only that alliance makes a difference.

Fight and then you will come up with your food, or power, or whatever…………………… singing, writing, alliance, partying, conference, half a century…….I haven’t seen such idiot coward officials……….

Dear ALL,
Great breaking news, this is the true and historical alliance for justice and freedom as a true and timely UNITY for our destiny to reclame our Identies in the Horn for Stability and Development.It reminds me a declaration made between Croatia-Slovenia-Bosinia-and Machedonia in 1990 which ended the Balcan Tyranny for ever and became one of the stability zone and fast growing in economic and democratic governance in Europe. The same must be true by any means, no reasons why the Horn found itself in a total gridlocked by the abyssinian greedy politics while the majority of the Horn have a right to self-governance like Croatians of today. This reality pushed our Policy Makers to come to that point and such move for sure opens the new window of historical opportunity as a United Forces not only against our enemies, but to bringing together our present and future generations Unity in self defence, science, Commerce and a common decision makers for the Stability and Developing of the Horn.
The Ahmara ruling regimes for the last 100 years did nothing except for their greedy politics which resulted in stability de facto the Balcans of the Horn, in development the least developed,poorest on earth and the home of hungery while if properly managed only our one of regions more than enough to feed our nations. As if this national shame is not eough, ahmara elities today are crying to restore such unwanted regime by many and hence our United Forces are for such historical response and supported by all oppressed nations and nationalities.
What is a really sad is that the TPLF whose orginal agenda was/is to liberate its own nation which we support in principle,but it should no be by the expenses of the oppressed nations and nationalities even to build their great Tigray Republic. But it showed us how our co-existence became the Mission Impossible. As the nationalist Tigreans knew this secret a long time ago, holding up the empire is as a buying time to loot the resources of the country and international aid,after Meles if they loose the power they ready to go on their way, for furher inf. see Tigray online, Aiga forum . What is the most impressing conclusion is that the Tigray nationalists say Noway to live with the Ahmaras by the country named Ethiopia/ see Gazaee H. on Aiga Forum/ who advocates for total separation under article 39 by saying that no more time left out for endless mistrust in blocking the path to development in a fast moving our world and instead Tigray, Oromia ,and others must move on their way of managing their respective system.When such true as unfolded reality analysed by our concerned society addios/good bye/ to the theory of democratization of the empire and fire up the struggle for the nations Independency.
