Unless we tell the truth about ourselves, others; be it enemies or friends alike don’t like to take the first step to bother themselves with our agenda as such.
This is a good start, we should continue doing it in its different forms, until the ones who were surprised of our hero of making his tactical and temporary friends ahead of his people, and his people second to them, as they did always in our history. That by itself is an insult for us, and terrible ignorance for them!!!!!!
This people should learn about the reality of where the world and the consciousness of the people who live in that country, they love more than their biological mother, for the fact that, they were privileged under her name than by their biological mother. But for the rest of us, that didn’t work very well in the past, it doesn’t work now, nor will it for the future. We don’t have any reasonable cause to make their beloved mother our first loved one because we didn’t get anything makes us so, as it was with them. We have a legitimate reason to love our own mother first, and if need be, negotiate about their mothers’ presence in our political life in the first place.
They didn’t understand our people’s saying that goes like this! “Hindaanqqon haate, haate kan ittin qalan baaftti” Which roughly means, scratching the ground for search of food nonstop, the hen comes up with the lost knife, that was buried in the ground and lost, and the one the owner searched and was troubled, as with what he could slaughter the hen herself!
So much so, they jumped up and down for no significant reason, and awakened our seemingly sleeping people, and provoked everyone for any possible unified actions!
This is good reason of starting and doing great things, for the fact that, even if we seem sleep helplessly, our enemies are always busy doing everything under their control not only to keep us under present condition, but to take us back to the 19th century era, the era I dare say every Oromo individual well know about what started then and existed up until now and what that means to our history and political life!
I would say we should be able to invite these guests to our each cities and states in unison so that the meaning of their mission be accomplished, and their tour be historical start and continuous with every sorts of successes of its kinds!
    Thanks!

No matter what the situation might be, I think under any circumstances
we Oromo’s need to focus on Unity, unity and unity. No matter what phrase we express,
cherish and by defending our values day and night, unless Oromo’s put all their
forces behind forming unity we cannot and we will not pull it off. I swore by
    it!

  16. Keebar:

    August 2, 2013 @ 11:21 am

A good move! Let’s do what we do in good spirits as is always the custom of the Oromo, respecting messages and messengers that are varying in nature. Let us show others that loving our identity does not mean hatred toward others, as many have feared without any ground. We are a peace loving people, we love our people, yet we fight against any injustice, whatever the nature and whoever the perpetrator.

  17. Lencho Tola Robi:

Well done our legendary. Focus on unity “tokkummaa yaa ilmaan Oromoo tokkummaa” by no means we never-ever beg unity from pseudo Ethiopian or Abyssinian elites. Look man people habasha are using our miner difference as tool, therefore focus on that. Unity and freedom for Oromo.

    I smell blisummaa (liberation) coming!!!

    Why?

    1) Oromo division is dead as unity and national consensus on key non-negotiable issues (i.e, self- determination, 100% control our resources in our territory without any external interference, orommummaa as our nationhood and oromo identity) is solidifying 2) The youth (qeerro) are firing hard as the old divided guard are dying and have totally lost control 3) Abyssinians are frustrated and in turmoil 4) oromo have a JUST cause and more than sufficient force, resources and determination for liberation.

Thank you Qeerro, oromos are beginning to smell the day of their liberation for the first time in 2 decades.

Nageenyi haadursu, akkam jirtu warri sochii tana/kana keessatti hirmaattani hundi,

First of all, I would like to express my proud of you b/c I understand that your agenda is only motivating Oromo nationals to create conscience on Oromummaa and your slogan or motto is “We are Oromos” which embrace all regardless of political, religious, professional, age, gender, and regional differences of the Oromo nationals. So, I belief,
this golden idea of tour/movement will develop an awareness and more unite Oromos, promote Oromummaa.

Also, I hope this movement would not stop after some times, but would become an education and information center that would educate common history, culture, tradition, language of the Oromo people which will bring all Oromos together regardless the above listed differences. In short, it has to create information or media center by coordinating the existing diaspora Oromo radios and TVs and developing/promoting to the powerful radios and TV/s to reach out all the Oromia territories and all over the world; which also would help the development of the Oromo arts, music, and literature.

On the other hand, I urge all Oromo nationals to support this movement morally, professionally, financially, and in any ways possible.

    I wish you successes!

WE HAVE BEEN OROMOS, ARE OROMOS, AND WILL BE OROMOS FOR EVER!!!!

We are tired of talking and go to the forest and mountain of Oromia to fight the enemy that is armed to the teeth to destroy Oromummaa. You are young and gadaa principle requires you not to talk politics but to fight, defend and defeat the enemy of Oromummaa. I personally appreciate what Jawar is doing, he is igniting all the oromos without the generation gap. Societal mobilization and awareness is the key to bring all together to fight the common enemy. In the absence of clean awareness & coalition it is hard to attain the intended goal as it had been for the past several years. As to me, Jawar & his colleagues are trying to light up our problems. Leadership is a key in struggle for freedom. To my understanding, he is working to bring the division to an end. Better to understand that the division among Oromos is the big hindrance to the realization of long hoped freedom. The oromos standing against each other. Clearing this cloud has to be the first job. That is what the qubee generation is doing. No region, or religion but oromumaa. We need courageous leaders as we need fighters. Strong leadership helps the fighters do right job. Leadership is key to succeed.

I heard Dr. Nuru Dedefo Working hard with hardliners for the realization of tr ue federalism in which individual rights are respected. So this indicates that they are abandoning the group rights such as language, culture and the right to use their natural resources and self governance. I also heard him saying individuals can own properties any where in the country. Property ownership in its crude sense may not matter, the problem comes when one community has to be relocated where it doesn’t belong. I don’t think Dr. Nuru’s group has seen this issue thoroughly. After all they are not on the side of their people, had they been with their people, they would have been working with their own people first and collaborate with others later.

Ultimately the liberation of our country will have to come by armed struggle because nothing good can come for free and national liberation is the most precious and expensive undertaking while oromos can never stop fighting until they get ALL of what is theirs. Therefore, unless Jawar has a parctical strategy to translate this new-found but long overdue oromo unity into a fighting force I don’t understand how “peaceful” struggle or creation of oromo media alone as promoted by jawar can move QBO forward.
Therefore, next stops and steps should focus on these issues.

I have never put my name on public sites i am today. I did it cause I am confident about what I got into. That is this I am Oromo first community engagement is a life changing for all of us. I know for sure some of you have a doubt about what is up with this people. This is none but the standing your ground. It is enough to say who, why, for what so and so. I am currently supporting by what ever it takes this I am Oromo first action. I ever did support any party or groups of our organizations before. Just cause it was bull from the day I have understand about all this bull. But today i got in it and I am confident we will do what we say as long as we all keep our promise. If we do not keep our promise do not judge him. If we all did what we can fully, and be did none or the others with him did none. I will be not only his personal enemy but the one to make sure he doese not do it again so do not talk but act. Do some and expect some. If you are living in fear and shock of the others wake up. And for those of you who worried about Jawar not doing none. He is not promising to go and fight but to fight the way he know. He said it if you think any one out side of that country is going to fight and free our people. You are wrong you and have a position to play. That is to do my part financially and advocating for them fighting. So stop the bullshit cause this is to make sure we are the voice of our own. Stop watching ESAT and let’s get our own media that speaks on our behalf. Stop watching ETV and OTV. Do some or stay back until you are sure cause the nagative is good but only if it is for a good intention.

I wander how people getting excited about this talk show that Johar is doing. How much we think it will be affecting / contributing for oromo’s freedom. As a person who have suffered from the tyrany of wayane i would like to advise you my people even though this is one way to fignt for freedom, the real libiration will only come by military action not aganist the wayne but also towords the OPDO. let us fignt for liberty than for show off!!

  63. I am oromo first:

    November 2, 2013 @ 5:58 am

Oromos have many reasons to be excited!

    1) For the first time in decades oromos speak in one voice, on one agenda, “we are oromos first”. This has a HUGE implication beyond the perception of many. Even Jawar may not have predicted its implication. We want to be recognized as an independent nation on our land. Every body wants to be asked the same question given an opportunity. The massive support it draws from oromo and the propaganda war of habasha to alienate our brother is proof of this. This would have been different if it were a show. This is a show only for the the hopeless and the ignorant.

    2) For the first time in decades oromos across all regions and religions and clans are endorsing one individual unanimously. This has several reasons a) Jawar has no dirty past which damaged the images of all traditional fragmented “leaders”. b) Jawar is a young intelligent student who represents the aspirations of the the vast majority of oromos c) Jawar’s historic answer to an historic question at an historic time and place an indication of honesty, reliability and loyalty to his people.d) jawar is a very energetic, positive young leader who reopened the eyes many disillusioned oromos and raised their morals once again.

    3) Oromos have been waiting for unity for many many years because they know when they are united there is nothing theycant accomplish. If even tigres occupied our country and built an empire from Eritrea to Indian ocean there should be no reason we cant liberate ourselves from them. WE should be able to do AT LEAST what they did. For that Oromos need UNITY as the most important weapon. The rest comes on its own

    4) Jawar knows like any body else the ultimate solution is military one. He Jawar never said he would go to the bush and free oromia. Only a fool expects from him to do this. He said he would create favorable conditions for that. He did already a significant part this, i.e. getting at least diaspora oromos under one movement which no one else did in the past. The rest of the job is ours. Accept directions and execute them. If I know who is driving the car I know where I am going. This is what was missing from oromos for decades!

.This is a show only for the the hopeless and the ignorant.

  64. Hawwii Barii:

    November 10, 2013 @ 11:53 am

The so called” Oromo first” does not make any sense, linguistically, sociologically and politically. One can not be Oromo first and another thing second. It is better to say, “Oromo always.”

I only go to this meeting because of gallants Oromos like obbo Galaasaa, Abbaa Nagaa fi Xahaa Abdii who abandoned their family, work and education to write Oromummaa by their blood, bone and sweat. We can only hear truth from these gallants.

My message for Juwaar and his friends is that go to the mountain like Obbo Galaasaa and Abbaa Nagaa. At your age, they were in the mountain chasing enemy . If you are not ready to go to the mountain stop the empty talk. You are physically fit for military and leave talking for those who can not go to the mountain because of age. Oromo culture dictates that one can not become Oromo leader without brilliant record of bravery at the battle field. I only recognize Oromo leaders who were at the battle field.

Any Oromia independence movement, including Oromo meeting must display Oromoo symbols. It must become a norm that those who participate on the meeting and deliver a speech must put on Oromian independence symbols and emblem. The income from selling of these symbols and emblem must finance the meeting expenses. With this we are going to hit two birds with one stone.

I have believe your approach is not all that clear. I can understand why that could be. I just hope it works and free my people from the bondage of multiple oppressors. Oromo is ready to run their own affairs. I also feel the next level in Oromo revolution is not going to be pretty. The other side will suffer a lot as the frustration in Oromo community has been growing steadily over several years. Study the history of South Africa….You will realize that oppressors don’t naturally like to leave their post without a good concession. We as Oromo will have a hard time to accept multiple concessions as instead of just one that happened in South Africa. The bottom line here is that we will have no choice but to defeat this ass holes on a plain field.

I am ready to fight. That is what it takes to guarantee a freedom. Rise my people. We shall see victory in no time. All it takes is our will to sacrifice.
